IDEA is committed to helping all of our scholars apply to college and ensure that 100% of each graduating class has received at least one college acceptance.
In collaboration with our partner, DC-CAP, we provide opportunities for scholars to visit colleges and universities and meet with admissions officers at IDEA. College trips and meetings are open to eligible seniors.
Each school has its own criteria for admission. Seniors and their families can contact the colleges directly or Academic Counselor Sara Sharpe at to learn more.

IDEA administers several college scholarships for our graduates. For more information, please contact Vice Principal Shomari Jennings or Dean of Culture Lori Briscoe.

Frank Creighton Memorial Scholarship
The Frank Creighton Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating IDEA senior who demonstrates need, merit, and a plan for continued education. The scholarship aims to encourage a balance of talent with drive, ambition with grit, and passion with practicality by rewarding hard-working, well-rounded students who exhibit strength of character. The program matches scholars with mentors who provide consistent and meaningful support for student success. To make a tax-deductible donation to the Frank Creighton Memorial Scholarship Fund please donate securely via IDEA's PayPal page here.
