NEW SY20-21 Immunization Policy: District law and regulations require all schools in the District of Columbia, including private and parochial schools, to verify student compliance with the immunization requirements as part of enrollment and attendance. If a student is not compliant, the school must immediately notify the parent, guardian, or adult student in writing of the missing immunization(s). If the student does not come into compliance within a 20-school day period, the school must remove the student from attendance until the immunization certification is secured by the school. Immunization locations: Download a list of primary care sites to refer families to should they need the support.
Upcoming Enrollment Dates
June 30-August 10, 2020: Submit previous high school transcript if applicable
IDEA Public Charter School is a free, open-enrollment, public high school for District of Columbia. If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available, a lottery is held to determine the order in which students are offered seats. Per the District of Columbia School Reform Act, siblings of current IDEA Public Charter School students receive preference in the lottery should they apply during the open enrollment period. Students applying after the lottery will be added to the wait list on a first-come-first-served basis.
