About IDEA
 
IDEA Public Charter School in Washington, DC challenges, motivates, and strengthens the intellect of all of our students, whether they are pursuing paths to college or the workforce. Founded in 1997, IDEA is located in a state-of-the-art educational facility in the historic Deanwood community. In addition to rigorous core academics, IDEA offers robust career and technical education pathways including child development, computer science, construction technology, and more. 
 
Effective November 1, 2021, all adult employees, contractors, interns, and volunteers working in person in a public, public charter, independent, private, or parochial school in the District of Columbia, and all adult employees, contractors, interns, and volunteers working in person in a child care facility regulated by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, shall have received a full course of vaccination against COVID-19 unless they have been granted an exemption from such vaccination pursuant to, and are compliant with the requirements of, Section IV of this Order.

How Our Hiring Process Works

Our selection process is design to help you learn about IDEA as we learn about you. Steps in our process include:

2. Reference check: We speak with two to four former managers or peers to get their perspectives on the great things you bring to the table for scholars every day.

3. Phone screen: We have some questions for you and expect you have some for us as well. Let’s get to know each other a little better.

4. Data exercise: Strong data practices are key to great instruction. This exercise allows you to see how we approach data and gives us a sense of your background in this realm.

5. In-person lesson and interview: Get to know our scholars through a 20-minute demonstration lesson as we get to know how you approach classroom culture and learning. We will wrap up the day with an extended conversation.
