Scholars Celebrate Black History Month through Social Movements

IDEA concluded our celebration of Black History Month with a program on February 27 examining Black history through the lens of the Civil Rights Movement to today's Black Lives Matter Movement. The program began with a solo by sophomore Renikka Robinson, followed by a duet of "Eyes on the Prize" by music teacher Ms. Brown and English teacher Mr. Tucker. The Leading Ladies Cheer Squad performed a step show and a traditional dance, and the Dance Team performed as well. Pastor Bonner of Greater Love Church gave a talk called "What's Your Value?" and scholars answered trivia questions about Black history.
