Our 10th graders went to the Newseum today. The students were able to make connections to both their English II class and World History II classes. In English II, the students just finished reading "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. We focused on the use of propaganda by leaders in society. Students worked in small groups to find examples of propaganda from media sources throughout history at the Newseum. The students who finished first got a prize! These students were Morgan Glover and Tavahn Ashton. For World History, students were able to connect to their curriculum by finding news articles related to the repression of civil rights and totalitarian states.
