IDEA's north wing renovation is providing an on-site opportunity for our construction technology scholars to see a real-world construction site in progress at all stages of development. Carpentry 1, 2 and Principles of Construction classes recently visited the Corbett Construction build. Site Supervisor Pete Carter showed scholars the architectural plans and did a walk through various spaces. Scholars were able to see demolition in progress, electrical, plumbing, masonry, drywall, joint compound being applied, framing, insulation, a laser level being used and drop ceiling being installed. "Scholars asked great questions and it was a highly informative experience to see the trades working together," said Construction Technology Teacher Ian Milne. "Pete was a great host and is willing to do periodic walk throughs so scholars can see progress."
