Congratulations to Our March 2021 Scholars of the Month!

12th Grade | Aviyana Green

Aviyana has been really impressive in her class at Bard College this year. She was also the standout student moderator at the recent Career Expo. Amazingly, Aviyana is double booked, taking both Carpentry and Peer Group Connections classes during one period but she has managed to maintain an A in both classes. Aviyana has set an example of how to not only achieve but to overachieve, manage time wisely, and support her peers all at once!  She consistently exceeds expectations and we are proud to award her scholar of the month.

11th Grade | Jocelyn Gibbs

Jocelyn has been one of the most consistent virtual learners.  She is constantly serving as a leader in the classroom, and does not hesitate to come off mute to participate in class. She uses her voice in the zoom to ask clarifying questions, respond to questions, and validate her peers, helping create a community in a school year that is lacking this critical element of a successful classroom. Jocelyn does a great job of communicating not only with her peers, but also her teachers. This has enabled her to maintain the highest levels of academic success in all of her classes. Jocelyn is a leader and sets an excellent example for her peers.

10th Grade | Jaila Walker

Jaila Walker is easily one the most talented scholars in our school. Jaila has consistently been at the top of the 10th grade across the board, all year long. Jaila could be named scholar of the month every month and that speaks volumes. We are so proud of her tenacity and attention to detail and cannot wait to see how her story unfolds. Her leadership and her witty personality make Jalia a force to be reckoned with. We are proud to have her as our scholar of the month.

9th Grade | Tiaret Payne

Tia is a dedicated scholar. She is consistently on top of her work and is a scholar who teachers can count on to come off mute or use the chat to participate in class. She has no problems jumping right in and assisting her peers with their work and brings a positive energy to her classes. Tia goes above and beyond by taking advantage of any opportunities to earn extra credit or attend an in-person event.
