Antanay is a principal’s honor roll student who served as secretary of the National Honor Society and as an Urban Alliance intern at Building Bridges Across the River at THEARC. Her favorite classes at IDEA were senior seminar, in which she worked with Ms. Alexandrea Rich to plan and achieve her goals; and precalculus because of Dr. Autumn Gabriel’s energy, positivity, and creativity.
Antanay was accepted to 13 colleges and offered numerous scholarships. She looks forward to attending Trinity Washington University on a full scholarship. She received the Joanne and William Conway Nursing Scholarship, the Trinity Leadership Scholarship, and educational support from the DC Retired Educators Association, DC Tuition Assistance Grant, and the DC College Access Program.
Antanay plans to study nursing and psychology and hopes to eventually open her own medical practice focused on women’s health. Antanay’s advice is “just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’ll fail again. Pick yourself back up and strive harder.”
She would like to thank the staff at IDEA for their constant encouragement, especially Mr. Morrell Miles, Mr. Reginald Boyce, Ms. Lori Briscoe, Ms. Adriana Cofield, and Ms. Alexandrea Rich for helping her in challenging times.
