Melody Washington has been the clinical director at IDEA since 2017. She came to IDEA as a clinical counselor in 2012. As clinical director, Mrs. Washington oversees IDEA's clinical team and monitors special education services and 504 plans.
She has a Master of Social Work from City University of New York – Hunter College School of Social Work and Bachelor of tsAr in psychology from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Before getting her master's degree, Mrs. Washington was a resident advisor at Covenant House New York, a wonderful and fulfilling experience which solidified her desire to become a therapist.
While earning her advanced degree, Mrs. Washington juggled many responsibilities, including marriage, a pregnancy, an internship, and working full-time with the support of her husband, family, and friends. That experience among others has shown her how the ability to manage many tasks at one time leads to a skill perfected over time.
