Enrollment Requirements

IDEA Public Charter School participates in My School DC, a common application for all D.C. public schools. Create a My School DC account to begin your application process. To learn more about a post-lottery application and be added to IDEA PCS wait list visit My School DC.

Important Dates for New Families and Students

  • February 1, 2018: Application deadline (grades 9-12) The MySchoolDC lottery has closed for the 2018-2019 school year
  • March 30, 2018: Lottery results are available
  • May 1, 2018: Enrollment deadline

Important Dates for Returning Families and Students

April 2 – June 1, 2018: Current IDEA PCS families will be required to verify their DC residency in person at school to re-enroll for 2018-19 school year.

IDEA Public Charter School is a free, open-enrollment, public high school for District of Columbia. If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available, a lottery is held to determine the order in which students are offered seats. Per the District of Columbia School Reform Act, siblings of current IDEA Public Charter School students receive preference in the lottery should they apply during the open enrollment period. Students applying after the lottery will be added to the wait list on a first-come-first-served basis.
