IDEA Hosts First Annual Vocational Fair

IDEA hosted our first annual vocational fair on March 16 to present post-secondary options to our students who are interested in entering the workforce or vocational school, or who are just looking to have a plan B after graduating from high school. Our school's mission speaks to our students gaining post-secondary opportunities. To live our mission the goal is to ensure that, even if our students are not going to college, there is a plan in place for them after graduation.

We had the pleasure of hosting:

  • United Planning Organization
  • Job Corps
  • Career Technical Institute
  • Sunflower Bakery
  • D.C. Fire and EMA Department
  • 1st Step Child Development
  • International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
  • Year Up

Students were given the opportunity to visit each organization, ask questions, take away information and identify next steps. It is our hope to double organizational presence next year to broaden options to our students.
