Motivating Students to be Good Citizens

From the Principal
Welcome to the new academic year and a fresh start for students, parents, teachers and all school staff. IDEA Public Charter School had a busy and productive summer preparing for the start of 2008-2009 School Year. We are building on our AYP success in math and reading to help realize the school-wide theme of One Team, One Goal. I am pleased to introduce Natasha Warsaw, Assistant Principal, Sherrie Jacobs, Numeracy Coach, Nilaja Taylor, Literacy Coach, Faries McCree, Guidance Counselor, Jenaine Butler, Parent Coordinator and the new English, Foreign Language, Health and Physical Education, JROTC, Math, Science, Social Studies, Special Education and Technology teachers and the School Resource Officers who joined the IDEA faculty and security team this year. IDEA is primed for change in 2008-2009. Classroom instruction, use of technology, discipline processes and parental involvement are being aligned for greater effectiveness. Students who qualify will receive supplemental reading and math services and the 21st Century After School program will resume to enable students to participate in various non-academic activities. Please contact me with questions and concerns and remember it takes a triage that includes parents being involved, the child and school for us to succeed with your children. Thank you for making IDEA Public Charter School your school of choice. All the best, Charlotte Blount Lewis
