Q: What are the best transportation options for getting to IDEA?

A: The Deanwood Metro station is on the orange line, located two blocks from the school. The bus route that comes nearest to the school is U4 and drops students off half a block from the school. The DC Department of Transportation provides reduced bus and rail fare for students to go to and from school. To apply for a student farecard–good for train or bus–parents may complete an application in the IDEA main office or download the 2013-2014 Student Metro Card Application and bring it to the school office. Students and families must then take the card to Metro Center to add money. The cost is $30 per month.
